Ray’s BBQ Shack started out as a food truck in the Houston area in 1992 owned and operated by Rayford Busch who was a well respected officer of the sheriff department. By day he protected and serve the citizens of Harris County and by night and weekends he kept them full with his mouth watering brisket and his fall off the bone ribs with that true Texas smoke flavor.
In 2008 Rayford Busch along with Maxine Davis (A former VP at a local bank) and Herb Taylor (a local high school football star and NFL Veteran) got together and decided to open a brick and mortar location that would serve greater 3rd ward and the surrounding areas. January 2009 was the Grand Opening of Rays “Real Pit” BBQ
